Volunteers Make a Difference at the Lauder Monument (Part 2!)

A mixed bag of weather greeted volunteers at a Friends of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs “Make a Difference” Day at the Lauder Monument, Invernoaden, on Thursday 6th June. The very enthusiastic group of volunteers from the Friends, the National Park Authority and the engineering firm AECOM were happy to set about the repainting of the railings surrounding the monument. There was a bit of work involved in scraping off the old flaky paint first, however everyone was happy to tackle this!

After doing the paintwork, the volunteers split into groups to visit various picnic spots to do some litter picking, with everyone meeting at the Blairmore Cafe where some hot drinks and cakes were very much appreciated indeed!

Thankfully there was hardly any litter in the picnic areas. The Friends would like to thank the volunteers for all their hard work and the National Park Authority for helping to provide litter picking equipment and supplying one of their electric vehicles for the day.
